Intel turns into latest Western tech firm to suspend company in Russia

April 5 (Reuters) – U.S. chipmaker Intel Corp (INTC.O) explained on Tuesday it has suspended company operations in Russia, becoming a member of a slew of companies to exit the state following its invasion of Ukraine.

The company, which had past month suspended shipments to buyers in Russia and Belarus, reported it has carried out enterprise continuity measures to lessen disruption to its world-wide functions.

“Intel proceeds to be a part of the worldwide group in condemning Russia’s war versus Ukraine and contacting for a swift return to peace,” the company mentioned.

Intercontinental Business Equipment Corp (IBM.N) as well experienced suspended shipments as Ukraine urged U.S. cloud-computing and program providers to cut off business with Russia.
